Google forms are excellent quizzes since they allow you to create multiple choice questions, true/false, open questions and you can also add photos or videos to the questions. So for example, you can embed a video and after students watch it they can answer some questions.
Socrative lets you create multiple choice questionnaires which you can launch as a competition. It is a great tool since it gives you instant feedback about the students' answers. Also, you can download their answers as PDF files.
You can only create multiple choice or true/false questions and then you need to print out as many QR codes as you need. Each student gets a code and in order to answer the question, they need to show the code with the correct answer facing upwards. Then, the teacher uses the mobile phone app to scan all the answers and they all appear immediately in the scoresheet.
